My Story

I’ve always loved golf! I was introduced to it at age 6 by my dad and given my first set of clubs at age 7and I was hooked! I would spend my days playing our little 9-hole course and then hours practicing chipping, pitching, and putting at the practice area. I would watch Steve & Tom Watson and was so awed by how incredible their short games were. I wanted to be able to hit the variety of shots they did. I would go try to emulate those shots. My curiosity would lead me down paths of studying technique, history, design, equipment, anything golf-related and I would be reading it! I got excited when I could begin to use the shots I watched and practiced on the course to achieve small goals. Breaking, 50, then 40, then par, beating my father, and then competing and winning local tournaments. My game continued to improve, and I led our high school team to conference championships and the first two state tournament bids ever (we finished 2nd both years). I was blessed to have an opportunity to play D1 college golf, but chose to stay closer to home and played NAIA then NCAA D3 golf for 4 years. Making the all-conference team and playing in every meet was rewarding, but I was captivated by the endless range of balls and even larger practice area! I would spend the majority of my time there. I’ve been fortunate to have success and win a variety of amateur events in the area, along with some club championships. But my greatest joys came from watching other people improve from small suggestions or tips when they would ask me for help. I’ve coached multiple college athletes, including D1 and NAIA. I get excited when I witness them fall in love with the game and start dreaming about what they might be capable of achieving! All of this is what has led me to take a shot at my dream at my age and help teach/coach people to improve their game, enjoy the challenge, and achieve what they can dream in the great game of golf.
